ABOUT ME
I was raised on the family dairy farm in rural Salt Lake County. I'm a fifth generation Utahn. Growing up we vacationed in nearby National Parks, camped in the mountains and talked a lot about geography at home. I guess that's where the travel bug hit me.
After school, where I majored in Geography, I went to work for Morris Murdock Travel in Salt Lake City. In the 30 years at the agency I did a number of different things, including working as a travel counselor and in management.
The Travel Industry has gone through a number of radical changes in recent years. Shortly after September 11, 2001, I found myself having the opportunity to start a new career. Naturally I wanted to stay in travel; only this time I wanted to be my own boss. I pursued a new professional path - that of being a tour guide.
During these past years as a guide my life has been enriched. I have enjoyed meeting many people from different parts of the world. With the preparation, study and experiences that go into each tour my knowledge has increased. The words of thanks and appreciation that have come from my travelers have been very rewarding and gratifying to me.
Here is what some have had to say when I've been their tour guide:
Speaking as the owners and tour directors, Ted is one of the best guides we've worked with anywhere! His friendliness and ability to become one with the group have made him a favorite with our people. He is easy to communicate with and supportive of us while on tour. A feeling of unity and confidence is created which is felt by all. His knowledge, attention to detail, wit and smile all contribute to his skill that has made him one of our favorite guides.

Ted's ease, expertise, empathy, sense of fun, sparkling eyes, and ability to become one of the group, all lifted him up above the rest. Not only is he a great tour guide, but he has become a dear friend.

Ted is undoubtedly one of the best guides we have ever had on a tour. Not only was he attentive to everyone's needs, his knowledge of the areas we visited and their history added very much to making our trip so memorable. We look forward to working with him again on future tours of the West.

We returned home safe after a good NTA convention. The highlight for us, however, was the familiarization tour we did with Ted as our guide. The scenery was awesome. His knowledge and friendliness were outstanding! We look forward to staying in touch with him in the future.

Our trip with Ted was so delightful! Everything went as planned. We appreciated all the work he did in front of us and the preparations behind the scenes to make our tour run so smooth. He was wonderful! What memories we have on our tour through the heart of the Rockies.
